The Lineup for Corona Capital GDL Accidentally Leaked

UPDATE: It seems there will be no Corona Capital Guadalajara festival this year after all.

While there has been no official announcement, details have emerged from event promoters that difficulty obtaining permits for the event, combined with a “complicated” and “fickle” local audiences have contributed to the demise of this, and several other music festivals in Guadalajara in 2024.

Though I’m a huge indie music fan, I’d never heard of the French electronic pop band L’imperatrice. Now that I have, I’d like to send them a bottle of Champagne for accidentally leaking the Corona Capital Guadalajara 2024 lineup last November.

When the band realized — or was informed of — their error they quickly pulled the post down. But a handful of Mexican media outlets had already capitalized on the gaffe (no pun intended).

The next edition of this annual two-day music festival held on the grounds of Valle VFG (10 km south of Guadalajara’s international airport) is set for May 18-19, 2024.

And if the details L’Imperatrice posted to their Instagram is to be believed (festival organizers have not confirmed anything), the lineup is pretty damn impressive:

As a huge fan of MGMT, Mitski, and The National, I’m overjoyed at the prospect of seeing them perform live here in GDL. Having Boygenius, Surf Curse and the B-52s on the same bill would be the cherry on top!

Pre-sale tickets for the event went on sale exclusively to Citibanamex customers back on November 27, but they’re not yet available to the general public.

We’ll be looking for an official announcement sometime in the new year.
